Committee on Political Affairs Report

The Law Committee suspended its report after Article 26, leaving the rest of the Constitution for delegates to examine on Day 4, and letting the Committee on Political Affairs to take the dais to give their report.

Political Affairs Committee Chair Jerry Connelly introduced committee members and asked Director of Government Affairs Bridget Martin to read the report. It summarized the need for political action and pointed out that many lodges do not participate in the Legislative Education Fund (LEF) or the Campaign Assistance Fund (CAF). LEF is used to educate members and can be financed with local lodge funds; CAF is used to give donations to political campaigns and may only include voluntary individual donations. Both are essential to the Boilermakers political agenda.
