Resolutions honor Abe Breehey

Bridget Martin, Director of Political Affairs

TWO RESOLUTIONS TO honor the late Abe Breehey were recommended by the Resolutions Committee and adopted unanimously by delegates Wednesday. Breehey was the Boilermaker’s Legislative Director before his unexpected death in April of this year. One resolution was to rename the Brotherhood’s “Legislator of the Year Award” the “Abe Breehey Legislator of the Year Award”; the other was to award him a 7-year pin posthumously.

Department of Government Affairs staff rose to remember Abe and urge adoption of the measures. They included Director of Political Affairs Bridget Martin, SAIP Tony Jacobs, and Assistant Legislative Director Cecile Conroy. A half dozen other delegates who had known Abe also addressed the convention in support of the resolutions.
