32nd Consolidated Convention July 25-28, 2011

131 Years: The Boilermaker Legacy 1880-2011

Department of Government Affairs (DGA) raises money for CAF and LEF

In their efforts to raise political funds for union initiatives, the Department of Government Affairs is selling Boilermaker collectibles and other memorabilia in the Milano Ballroom throughout the convention. Items on sale include custom cigars, t-shirts with Boilermaker insignia, commemorative Boilermaker Zippo™ lighters, and “We are One” lapel pins, which delegates are encouraged to wear as part of a drive for Union-Wide Solidarity.

Proceeds from the We are One pins go to help combat the many anti-union initiatives on the state level in places like Indiana, Ohio, and Wisconsin. Profits from the sale of other collectible items and raffle tickets will be donated to the Campaign Assistance Fund (CAF). CAF funds, which rely on voluntary donations, are used to assist campaigns of candidates for federal office who support our legislative agenda.

Raffle tickets are also on sale at the booth; tickets will be drawn for prizes on the 28th of July. Raffle tickets are priced as follows: one ticket for $20, three for $30, and seven for $100.

First prize is a Remington 700 BDL 30-06 Rifle ($927 MSRP) and a Burris Signature Select 3x12x44mm Scope ($778 MSRP). Second Prize is a Remington 887 Nitro Mag Waterfowl 12 Gauge Shotgun ($532 MSRP). Third Prize is a Remington 597 FLX .22 Camo Youth Rifle ($260 MSRP).

Information on the memorial fund for Abe Breehey is also available at the DGA booth.
